The main character of the story is Samra Yasin, a sensitive and delicate-hearted girl who hopes for dreams and love from life. But fate brings her on a path where she only faces sorrow, torture and rejection.
Samra is trampled on by her own closest relatives. She is not only physically but also emotionally injured. Her dreams are shattered, her honor and confidence are taken away.
This story shows how a woman is sometimes forced to endure oppression in the name of relationships, sometimes under the pressure of society, and sometimes because of her own weaknesses. At several points in the story, Samra feels herself hanging on a “cross”, a cross that is always given to women in the name of tolerance, sacrifice, and silence.
